Grooming
Please make sure that you drop your pet off on time for their appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will have to reschedule your appointment and you will incur a cancellation fee. Please plan that your pet will be with us for approximately 60 minutes to 3 hours and be prepared to pickup within 30 minutes of our phone call unless other arrangements have been made.
About
Grooming is done one (or family) dog(s) at a time. This makes a calming environment for your pups. It is our goal for your pet to be as comfortable and stress free as possible throughout the grooming process. Please be sure to make us aware of any physical or medical constraints prior to your grooming appointment.
When you drop off your pet, they will be placed in a holding area (not a cage) until we are ready. They will be bathed using our products (unless you bring preferred products) and hand dried using a high velocity dryer followed by a fluff dry to help get out the curls. Their grooming will include brushing, a cut to your specifications including a sanitary trim, nail trimming, ear cleaning and finishing with a little something special! A couple of fun pictures and they will be ready to dazzle you with their new look! Watch for your pet’s picture to be posted on Instagram or in our Facebook group Fur Babies Pup Pics! If your pup is matted down and requires a shave down, there will be an additional $30 charge. There is a $15 handling fee.
Grooming Prices do not include CT State Sales Tax of 6.35%.
Faq
Do I need an appointment?
Yes! Appointments are needed for all services. The great news is that for some services, same day appointments are available in our booking system, which can be accessed by clicking HERE.
Is there any breed that you will not groom?
No! We love all fur babies.
My dog has medical issues. Can you make accomodations for their grooming?
Yes! We work with dogs that have issues ranging from IVDD to collapsed trachea to age related arthritis. Discuss your pet's medical limitations and we will do our best to find an accomodation to keep them comfortable and stress-free.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
If it is your first appointment, then you will need to fill out the disclosure form (available for download above) and your proof of rabies vaccination. If your rabies has expired since your last visit, you will need to bring the new certification (not the tag).
Do you do nail trims?
Nail trims are part of the grooming appointment. If you are getting a self-wash or would like just a nail trim, please make an appointment (click HERE) and we will be happy to help. Please keep in mind that pets that require two handlers during a nail trim due to disposition are $30.
Can I bring my own shampoo/products?
Yes! While we provide all of the products that you will need during your self-wash/grooming (and some you might want!), you are welcome to bring in your own shampoo for your pet.
How should I bring my dog inside?
Dogs should be wearing their collars or harnesses and be on a non-retractable leash when you arrive to Fur Babies. If you do not have a non-retractable leash, please be sure that your leash is locked in the closest comfortable position for your dog.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all credits cards, but cash is always preferred due to credit card fees. If you choose to leave a gratuity for your groomer, we prefer that you use cash to do so. We also have gift certificates available for purchase for the perfect fur baby present!
