Before You Arrive

You’ve booked your appointment.  Now what?  Please be sure to read through our policies below and bring the following with you when you arrive – the Fur Babies Disclosure (filled out and signed) and proof of Rabies vaccination.

Proof of Rabies Vaccination

It is a Connecticut state law for us to require proof of vaccination before we can groom your dog. Prior to your appointment, we must have a copy of the rabies certificate (not the tag) showing the expiration date of the vaccine.

We try to call when your rabies vaccination is needed or requires an update as a courtesy, however we are not always able to do so. Ultimately, it is the pet parent’s responsibility to make sure that your paperwork is up to date and submitted prior to your grooming.




We understand that sometimes you may need to cancel your appointment. We require 24 hours notice. If an appointment is cancelled within the 24 hour window, you will be charged a $40 cancellation fee on the credit card on file.


Arrival & Pick-Up

Please make every effort to be on time to your appointment. Pups that arrive more than 15 minutes past the appointment start time will be rescheduled and charged a cancellation fee.  Please pick up your pup within 30 minutes of being called unless other arrangements have been made.

Difficulty Fees

If your pup is matted and requires a shave down, you will be charged a $25 fee.

If your dog requires two handlers for a nail trim due to disposition, there will be a $30 fee for nail trims.


Credit Card

All appointments will require a credit card on file at the time of booking.  We do not charge the card unless you are a no-show or do not cancel your appointment according to our 24-hour policy.


Do I need an appointment?

Yes!  Appointments are needed for all services. The great news is that for some services, same day appointments are available in our booking system, which can be accessed by clicking HERE

Is there any breed that you will not groom?

No!  We love all fur babies.

My dog has medical issues.  Can you make accomodations for their grooming?

Yes!  We work with dogs that have issues ranging from IVDD to collapsed trachea to age related arthritis.  Discuss your pet's medical limitations and we will do our best to find an accomodation to keep them comfortable and stress-free.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

If it is your first appointment, then you will need to fill out the disclosure form (available for download above) and your proof of rabies vaccination. If your rabies has expired since your last visit, you will need to bring the new certification (not the tag). 

Do you do nail trims?

Nail trims are part of the grooming appointment.  If you are getting a self-wash or would like just a nail trim, please make an appointment (click HERE) and we will be happy to help.  Please keep in mind that pets that require two handlers during a nail trim due to disposition are $30.

Can I bring my own shampoo/products?

Yes!  While we provide all of the products that you will need during your self-wash/grooming (and some you might want!), you are welcome to bring in your own shampoo for your pet.

How should I bring my dog inside?

Dogs should be wearing their collars or harnesses and be on a non-retractable leash when you arrive to Fur Babies.  If you do not have a non-retractable leash, please be sure that your leash is locked in the closest comfortable position for your dog.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all credits cards, but cash is always preferred due to credit card fees.  If you choose to leave a gratuity for your groomer, we prefer that you use cash to do so. We also have gift certificates available for purchase for the perfect fur baby present!

Please note that our hours are appointment dependent. We do sometimes close early if appointments are finished for the day.
